Parent Support

The CARES group Free weekly support group for parents and other concerned family members concerned about substance abuse by a loved one. Meets Thursdays, 7-9 PM at the First Congregational Church, 36 Main St. New Milford.This group is walk in, and does not require registration. Brookfield Cares has a Hope and Support Group that meets every Monday 7-9 @ Brookfield Senior center.

Newtown Parent Connection has a Hope and Support group that meets weekly on Thursdays 7-9 PM @ Edmond Town Hall.

Al-anon CT offers support groups and information for parents and family members. Find an Al-Anon meeting 1-888-825-2666

Drugfree.org and the Center for Motivation and Change collaborated on the 20 Minute Parent Guide; an online (or you can buy a print version) practical survival guide for any parent who is looking for guidance about how to help their child who is using substances (or engaging in other risky behaviors)
